The new date for the Creek Study is Friday, October 7th. Remember to bring old shoes or water shoes, extra clothes, and bug spray. Look for another permission slip to be signed and returned promptly at the beginning of the week.
Remember to make sure that you have your homework written in your assignment book properly each day. Also check to make sure that you have all the books and materials that you need to complete your assignments in your book bag prior to leaving school. If you need help with this task, see me and we will work on this procedure to ensure that you do it properly.

Homework– Write the definitions of the four vocabulary words in your notes. Use the glossary in your Religion book for the definitions.

We are finishing out the month of September. This means that your book project will be due on Friday, September 30th, regardless if we have the Creek Study or not. Students are required to hand in their reading log as well as their completed poetry booklet. We made the blank booklets in class last week; they are ready to be completed and decorated.
Remember, students should always have a chapter book that they are reading independently. After they finish a book, it should be marked on their monthly reading log. Then a new chapter book should be chosen. Students should bring their independent chapter books to school with them to read, as well as reading them at home.

The Cumulative Assessment for Section 1 will be on Wednesday, September 28th. We will also have individual performance task assessment the same day.
Please spend at least a ½ an hour working on individual math skills on Study Island sometime this weekend.

Social Studies: Chapter 2
· Lesson 1-“Ancient Americans”- Paleo-Indians, Adena, Hopewell, Mississippians- We will be discussing the roles and contributions these tribes made to our way of life.

The World Peace Day activities went very well. The releasing of the doves was once more a magical moment.
The Creek Study is once again postponed due to weather until next Friday, September 30th. Keep praying for sunshine!
Remember there is NO school on Thursday, September 29th so the teachers can attend a teacher’s conference.
